Fog Chaser is the instrumental project of Matt Evans, a composer and musician based in the Pacific Northwest.
I've been a singer and songwriter for as long as I can remember — playing in bands, singing a lot, doing that thing. But after two traumatic brain injuries and the mental health challenges that followed, everything changed for me, in life and in music. I started Fog Chaser as part of my own healing, and it became something bigger than I expected.
Since 2021, I've been writing and sharing a new instrumental piece every month with subscribers through a newsletter — pairing each song with photography and poetry. That practice became the foundation of everything: independent releases on labels like Bigo & Twigetti and Sonder House, film scores for documentaries and short films, sync placements in television, and over a million streams on Spotify. The music has reached listeners in 115 countries.
I'm currently studying film composition at Berklee College of Music.
